Hi, my name is Bartel VanOostendorp V, or Dr. Van for short. I have a beautiful wife and four adorable children. My wife Randi and I have been married since 1997. Randi graduated from culinary school and is a great chef. My son Bartel VI is the oldest of our children and he is now eight years old. Next we have my daughter Chloe or “Coco”, and she is six years old. Next is Annie Grace who joined our family in October of 2005; she is three years old. In March of 2009, we were blessed to welcome our new baby Oliver into our family! I grew up here in Arizona along with my parents and five siblings. I both appreciate and enjoy the time I spend with my wife and kids. We love doing anything and everything as long as we’re together. Some things we enjoy are biking, swimming, playing board games and cooking. We enjoy visiting our families in Utah and California.
Dentistry is my passion! I enjoy all aspects of dentistry but I most appreciate the change in my patient’s oral health and accomplishment I feel from having my patients feel comfortable smiling. Excellence in dentistry begins with a careful co-diagnosis and treatment plan to establish the goals we will achieve together. Communication and long-term relationships are important to me. Many of my uncles are in the dental field and my grandfather is a physician. I knew growing up I wanted to make a change in people’s lives and what better way than help better serve my community.

I attended Mesa Community College, Southern Utah University and Brigham Young University for my undergraduate studies. I then attended University of the Pacific dental school, from which I graduated with honors and received numerous awards for excellence. I am a member of the American Dental Association, American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and also a member of the Invisalign Study Club. I am a caring, skilled professional, dedicated to simplifying what is often a very complicated and confusing area of health care. I want all of my patients to be informed and knowledgeable about their dental health care, from treatment plans and services, to insurance coverage.
